Hi Indivisible Friends,
There are a ton of great opportunities to take action coming up, from attending No Kings 4 in Pullman to the Indivisible Moscow Town Hall on October 23, so I’ll keep the comments brief today. I know it’s impossible to do all the things, but I hope you can at least pick one event or activity to commit to in order to promote democracy and defend our American values. The midterms are approaching and we need all hands on deck!
Here are some resources to prepare for the upcoming election on Nov. 3:
Also, a quick plug for the Latah Recovery Community’s 8th Annual “Soup’s On!” fundraiser, being held at the 1912 Center on Wednesday, November 4 from 11:00-2:00. Local restaurants provide the soup and community members get to enjoy a shared meal wile building support, community, and understanding for our friends, neighbors, and co-workers in recovery. Indivisible Moscow would like to sponsor this event for $250, but our funds are tied up in our upcoming town hall, so if you’d like to make a donation and help us support this wonderful event, please email indivisiblemoscow@gmail.com or use one of the donation links at the bottom of this post. Thanks so much!
Now, on to the upcoming ways to take action.
No Kings 4 in Pullman!
Because we already have our hands full with planning our October 23 Town Hall (details below), Indivisible Moscow will be supporting the No Kings 4 event being held in Pullman instead of putting on our own. This event is being organized by the Intersectional Advocacy Coalition (IAC), Indivisible Palouse, the League of Women Voters, and the Whitman County Dems. It will run from 10:00 to noon, with various democracy-related activities, such as a table with kids “voting” related activities (coloring, mini-elections, etc.). They will also be collecting donations of diapers for Afghani refugee babies, Legos and craft supplies for a children’s home in Ukraine, and food for local food banks.
Then, from noon to 2:00, the regular Rally for Sanity will start, focusing on early voting. Tables will continue during the rally, but we wanted to have a bit of “quiet time” first for residents who aren’t inclined toward rallying. If you can, come to Pullman to support voting, democracy, mutual aid, and American values.
Become a Latah County Poll Worker!
Latah County Elections needs poll workers for the upcoming General Election on November 3, 2026. Please reply your availability to elections@latahcountyid.gov
Training will be held October 14th or 15th (your choice) at the Latah County Fairgrounds from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM. Once you confirm your availability then you will receive an email to sign up for a training time. Thank you!
Get to Know HJR 4 Before You Vote
The following explainer provided by Reclaim Idaho. “This amendment is not primarily about drug policy; it’s about ballot-initiative rights. HJR 4 asks us to surrender a significant piece of our power as Idaho citizens.”
Learn About The Moscow School District Levy
If you want to learn more about the Moscow School District levy that will be on the ballot this year before you vote, here are several upcoming opportunities:
Check out the levy info by visiting this website or msd281.org.
Attend an Open House on Monday, October 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Moscow High School Commons. The open house will be a format for you to visit with board members and staff about specific aspects of the levy including the projects, the vision for Career Technical Education in our district, the high school conversion, the proposed performing arts center, the changes to Russell and the tax impacts of the levy. Small groups and individuals will have the opportunity to have conversations, and ask questions, and move to different tables, and topics. You can show up anytime and stay for as long as you want. You can engage in the topics that matter to you! Mr. Perryman will also be taking people on tours of the existing High School.
Superintendent Shawn Tiegs is hosting a lunch chat via Zoom from noon to 1 pm every Thursday between now and the election. He encourages people to attend who are skeptical or who have heard rumors that they would like to ask about. It is an open forum and discussion-based opportunity. The idea is you can hop on during a lunch break and listen to other questions as well as ask your own questions.

Oct. 10: Volunteer for Moscowberfest!
It’s the most Bavarian time of the year - Moscowberfest is right around the corner on Saturday, October 10 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM! And, of course, we need a few fantastic volunteers to help us make the day run smoothly. The good news is we’ve split the volunteer duties into shifts, so you can lend a hand AND still have plenty of time to enjoy the party!
If you’re able to help, please take a look at the sign-up sheet below and grab a shift that works for you: Sign Up to Volunteer for Moscowberfest
Oct. 11: Attend “Vote for Freedom”
“Vote For Freedom” is a presentation and Q&A by John Herrington from Astronauts for America. Herrington, a NASA astronaut and native American, will be visiting the Palouse as part of a nationwide initiative to encourage young Americans to vote. Herrington graduated from the University of Idaho in 2014. He is a Chickasaw and was the first native American to fly on the Shuttle. This event will be held Sunday, October 11, 7:00-8:30 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse.
The “Vote for Freedom” College Tour is organized by Astronauts for America, a nonpartisan nonprofit organization founded by over 100 former astronauts.
Oct. 22: Love Is Our Song
Oct. 22: Attend the Pro-Voice Project’s “Idaho Physicians Speak” Event
The Pro-Voice Project’s Good Faith Medical Judgement: Idaho Physicians Speak event will be at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center on Thursday, October 22. If you haven’t reserved your seats yet, get your tickets here.
“This documentary-style stage production is developed from interviews with Idaho reproductive healthcare providers about practicing—and deciding whether to stay—amid Idaho’s current legal climate. Local performers share physicians’ words and experiences, illuminating how policy decisions ripple through families and communities in Idaho. You won’t want to miss it.
Tickets are pay-what-you can, and through October 31, every gift is doubled by a $10,000 matching grant supporting the statewide tour. Ticket purchases and donations directly fund actor honoraria, travel, venue rentals, and insurance. Give through our regular Donate page or during ticket checkout, and know how grateful we are for your support!”
Oct. 23: Indivisible Town Hall at the Kenworthy
Mark your calendars for Indivisible’s town hall! This event will be held October 23 at the Kenworthy Theater, free to attend, with doors opening at 3:30 and the event running from 4:00-5:30. We initially planned to host a candidate forum for Idaho’s state and national-level candidates, but we were unable to get enough candidates to commit to attend. Instead we’ll have an event focused on educating the public about the various propositions on the ballot with an opportunity to meet and get to know whichever candidates do decide to attend. Details are still shaping up, so stay tuned!
